King Bellnor
Summary
King Bellnor lives in Mount Miilas which is north of Daliium and he is allied with Queen Zash’hura. Before the story started, he had a wife and a son. The son died in his sleep before the age of two and the wife blamed herself and thus took her own life.
Shortly after the wife died, Zash’hura and Ve’laaria went to live with him. King Bellnor agreed so long as they didn’t disturb him, and he showed them what part of the castle they could stay in. Three years later, Zash’hura started helping him with his battles and became his witch advisor.
Even with the aid of the witch, King Bellnor could never overcome his enemy, so Zash’hura made a plan to stop attacking the enemy, and make the enemy relax. She reasoned they could build their forces while the enemy didn’t suspect anything, and King Bellnor agreed.
In book one, King Bellnor is talked about, but not seen. His soldiers are in and out of Zash’hura’s chambers to check on her as part of their routine.
In book two, King Bellnor is seen when Fallin and Fia visit the kingdom. King Bellnor is happy to have Fallin and almost instantly views him as a long-lost son. King Bellnor is quite disappointed with Zash’hura wants the wife, Fia, to go to spy on Ve’laaria.
King Bellnor is then seen handling the rats that suddenly overrun his kingdom.
King Bellnor is a rationale man and he intended to abide by agreements set up long ago among enemies and allies: agreements that were seen as reasonable and he is unaware of the girls that Zash’hura has kept prisoner well beyond that reasonable time. He becomes aware at the end of book two and then decides to kick Zash’hura out of his kingdom. The thirteen Zash’huras refuse to leave, so King Bellnor packs up his people and leaves the rat-infested place to Zash’hura. He heads to the plains to rebuild his kingdom. King Galvinar decides to help him and Ve’laaria and her witches stay with King Galvinar and help in the rebuilding, so King Bellnor didn’t get rid of the black witches as he hoped.
